Michael Brennan is a consultant specializing in health associations and the non-profit sector. He has over 27 years experience in association management and health policy.
From 2008 to 2017 he served as CEO of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Other duties include Co-chair of Organizations for Health Action (HEAL), member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Institute of Military and Veterans Health Research, and member of the Governance Committee of the Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
Mr. Brennan holds a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Ottawa. He previously served as the Executive Director of the Canadian Technology Human Resources Board, and Director of Standards and Accreditation for the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists.
He has published articles on health economics, the role of associations in generating social capital, and responsible lobbying. He recently lectured at Queen’s University’s Monieson Centre for Business Research in Healthcare. He lives in the national capital with his wife Sandy, a physiotherapist, and two children.
