Kate Harrison is a Consultant at Summa Strategies, specializing in communication and consumer issues. She provides advice to clients in a variety of fields including labour, trade, finance, defence procurement, environment and transportation.
In addition to the government relations work she has done for clients, Katlyn is responsible for developing targeted public relations programs and communications strategies for national and regional clients. Specifically, she creates social media strategies, and educates clients about how to get started in social media through the development of grassroots online engagement campaigns.
Kate acquired significant communication and public administration experience during her tenure with the Department of National Defence. In her role as a Program Coordinator, she designed new recruitment and apprenticeship strategies for civilian employees.
Kate has been actively involved in the political process since accepting a position with a Member of Parliament Barry Devolin, in her hometown of Omemee, Ontario in 2006. Since then, she has worked at both the federal and provincial levels of government in a number of different positions, including legislative assistant and lead social media strategist for a provincial election campaign.
Kate serves as the Chair of the Canadian Advocacy Network (CAN), an organization which connects professionals in government and public relations with charities and non-profits who are seeking pro-bono assistance
