The Engaging Associations Forum is THE event for innovative association and not-for-profit executives. With a heavy emphasis on peer-to-peer exchange, thought-leadership and dynamic education, this conference aims to build a stronger, more vibrant association sector in Canada. If you want to experience a uniquely engaging conference, this is the place to be.
In 2013, after another industry conference with a format that just wasn't engaging – the “same-old, same-old” topics, lots of talking heads flogging their services, little opportunity to ask questions, Meagan Rockett, and Doreen Ashton Wagner decided it was time for a change.
“Association executives deserve to have a place where they can air their concerns in a safe, collaborative space, among peers.”
In 2017 we will be celebrating the fourth year of this thought-leadership event devoted exclusively to the issues facing associations and the not-for-profit sector.

By Mitchell Beer When nearly 178 countries officially signed the global climate change agreement this past April at United Nations headquarters in New York, it’s doubtful that very many associations outside the energy and environment communities saw themselves in the picture. That’s because one of the biggest challenges in solving climate change—and one of the[…]

Engagement tracking/scoring is currently a ‘hot’ topic for many leading association executives. But just scoring a member’s historical involvement may be ‘too little, too late’ for many organisations. However what if it was possible to accurately predict (using data you already have available) – a member’s future engagement? For progressive organisations, ‘big data’ analytics and[…]
Associations are not immune to the disruption caused by digital technology and the ever increasing expectations of the “connected” member. This is a digital world and many association leaders are finding it exhausting to keep up! But it doesn’t have to be that way. Belief in the adage that “what gets measured get done” just may be the[…]

From the feedback received from our focus groups and post-event survey in 2015, association execs told us peer-to-peer (P2P) learning is what they crave. They want an opportunity to exchange information with each other – not just from consultants and “experts” – about failures, successes, how-to-do’s and not-to-do’s. This was an interesting finding for us[…]
Over the past two years The Engaging Associations Forum would kick off with the Breakfast on Day 1. Based on the feedback we received from our speakers and presenters in 2015, we have added another opportunity for association executives to gather and get to know each other better. Thanks to VIA Rail, one of the Forum’s[…]
